Taking construction as the object, this paper has systematically probed into the relationship between the initial trust before signed the contract and construction contractual flexibility. Results from the sample of 168, discover that the various dimensions of trust has a positive role in the five basic dimensions of construction contractual flexibility. However, the effect levels are different between the five basic dimensions of construction contractual flexibility; Goodwill trust has more significant effect on objective dimension flexibility than subjective dimension flexibility, competence trust has more significant effect on subjective dimension flexibility than objective dimension flexibility; There is an existence of complementarities between competence trust and goodwill trust.
