As an emerging service model of libraries,makerspace is popular with American libraries. Therefore,through the website access,the telephone consultation,the e-mail consultation,the literature inquiries and so on,the paper investigated 60 representative American library makerspaces, mainly analyzed the construction model, the service content,the support effort,the promotion,and the safety measure of American library makerspaces,so as to put forward some suggestions and practice references on the construction and development of the library makerspaces in China.
