The evolution process of protection thought of cultural heritage is a gradually enriched, perfect, open and comprehensive process. Traditionally, Chinese protection thought of cultural heritage has an obvious tendency of disdaining implements while appreciating spirits. Since modern times, protection thought and practices of cultural heritage have undergone a number of innovations. Due to cultural differences, different understanding about authenticity of cultural heritage between China and foreign countries still remains. Thus, the protection of cultural heritage nowadays has a long way to go, confronting the competition＇between authenticity and innovation, tradition and modern.
