A novel sulfur-containing ferrocenyl chiral β-amino alcohol ligand has been successfully synthesized from readily available L-methionine through esterification, condensation, reductive alkylation, and further treatment with RMgX. This novel ligand was characterized by IR, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR and HRMS techniques.
