Huizhou merchants as a business group were well-known throughout the country in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Their success,which lasted for several hundred years,was partly due to the inheritance of their family traditions that highlight a filial piety-based outlook on family,a characterbuilding-foremost view on reading,aprofits-must-made-righteously view on business and a gather-to-scatter view on money.The family traditions of Huizhou merchants left valuable assets for today＇s construction of core socialist values in terms of family,education,business and public welfare.
