The reliability of complex lock systems in important aerospace applications is obviously of exceedingly high importance. It is also extremely difficult. In the full paper, we explain in detail our exploration of reliability design and analysis and our test evaluation; in this abstract, we just concentrate on the example of the separable fairing of the aerospacecraft, which forms section 2 of the whole paper. Again, in section 2, we just concentrate on subsection 2.3. In this abstract we just add some pertinent remarks to listing the three subsubsections of subsection 2. 3: FTA(fault tree analysis) and FMEA(fault mode effect analysis) in some detail (subsubsection 2. 3.1); the reliability test evaluation of lock system (subsubsection 2.3.2) ; the calculation and analysis of the lower limit of the structural strength reliability of the lock system (subsubsection 2.3.3). The relevant tests were performed in collaboration with us outside of Northwestern Polytechnical University and the same lock system was operated on 183 times in tests. The pertinent remarks under subsubsection 2.3.2 are: this is the core of our paper; on the basis of the 183 test operations of the same lock system, the detailed calculation shows the reliability of the lock system to be 0. 999 981 366 and therefore this lock system is, in our opinion, highly reliable.
