The fiber types, hybrid effect and the engineering applications of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete（HFRC） were analyzed. An overview of research progress in China and other countries regarding the performance of the HFRC of binary and multicomponent hybrid fibers were presented, such as strength, toughness and durability. Also the problems and insufficiencies of research and application such as the specification guide, research methods, reinforced principle and construction technology were dis- cussed, and then the future development trends were put forward.
