A β type adaptive multi-variable generalized predictive control method was proposed. Using this method, the hyperchaotic system can be controlled even if the dimensions of input and output are unequal. The hyperchaotic system can be steered to the appointed unstable fixed point through controlling part variables. The effectiveness of the method was demonstrated through numerical simulations. The method does not need solve the Diophantine equation, but reduces the computation of the algorithm.
