网络已经成为人们学习、工作和生活的不可缺少的必要工具,由网络规模、显示度、影响力等指标构成的网络竞争力是一个国家或机构的实力和水平的显著标志。为了了解中国大学的总体网络产出、显示度和影响力,本文从网站规模、学术文档数、文档丰富度、被链接数和显示度5个方面考察中国大学的网络表现。结合”世界大学网络计量排名”进行分析,结果表明中国大学的网络产出、显示度和影响力在世界排名中位置较落后:中国大学的网络信息公开、资料可获取度、文档丰富度和学术文档数与其它发达国家或地区差距较大;中国大学中,北京大学、清华大学和浙江大学等10所大学总体网络表现最佳。
In order to get a view of presence and influence of Chinese universities on the web, five factors were taken into account, i.e.,the number of published web pages, the number of rich files, those in pdf, ps, doe, ppt and rtf format, the number of articles gathered from the Google Scholar Database, the total number of external inlinks and the number of page views acquired from Baidu Baike. Combined with Webometrics Ranking of World:s Universities",' the results show that there is a larger than expected academic digital divide between Chinese higher education institutions and those in developed countries and regions. Chinese universities should reconsider their web policy, promoting substantial increases of the volume and quality of their electronic publications. Peking University, Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University er with other 7 universities have better performance than other Chinese universities.
