Due to low density, high specific stiffness, buffering, damping and many other excellent features, aluminum foam has arise more and more attention, and gradually been widely used in automotive, aerospace and other fields. Aluminum foam composite structure is made of dense foam aluminum core and an outer layer of metal through a variety of connections. It consists of different shapes and has more excellent performance than pure aluminum foam The international and domestic application status of aluminum foam and its composite structure are synthetically expounded. Its preparation method and development prospect are also discussed.
