清水江流域苗族群体属于“平权”社会,但并没有实行“逃避农业”和“逃避的社会结构”。尽管有清水江市场的发展和移民的流动,但苗族以血缘、地域、姻亲网络等结群。清水江苗族群体的“开寨始祖崇拜”、“姑舅交换婚”、“鬼蛊指控”等构成了一个完整的社会分类体系,然而这样的分类体系并不是“等级”的,其实质在于以“差序”的形式维护“平权”,并以集体民主决策的议榔制度给予保障。
The Miao ethnic group in Qingshui River Valley belongs to an equal right society without escaping from agriculture and from social structure. With the market development and the flow of immigrants, the Miao people set up communities on the basis of blood relationship, geography and marriage. The ancestor worship, marriage between aunt and uncle and Ghost accusation constitute a complete system of social classification of the Miao people in Qingshui River Valley. However, this classification system is not a hierarchical one. Its essence lies in maintaining equal rights through disparity order under the protection of collective and democratic decision - making of Yilang system ( civil council)
