In the era of knowledge economy, the nature of industrial clusters＇ innovative upgrading is the innovation and diffusion of knowledge, and different patterns of knowledge learning can make a difference. From the perspective of knowledge evolution, this paper first identified two patterns of industrial clusters＇ innovative upgrading： Science - Technology - Innovation and innovating by Doing, Using and Interacting, and then compared their performance. Based on small world network, it built a mathematical model. By numeri- cal simulation, studied the relationships between upgrading patterns and innovation performance, and then provided a reference for the alternative of optimal pattern of industrial clusters＇ upgrading.
