As the modernity mode of society, the obvious theoretical particularity of modem society is continuous differentiation and integration. Social differentiation appears in its social domain and value domain, which denotes such a historical process that social domains and their value principles become independent and get their own validity, and differentiation constitutes modern society＇s historical circumstance. However, social integration and value integration become more and more important when social differentiation leads to social split and value conflict. Integration will become a universal appeal and value direction of modem society. To rethink and illuminate the theoretical particularity of modem society, it is significant in theory and reality to exactly understand the social problems and contradictions in contemporary China.
