许多学者利用叠层石的形态来判断所处的环境,但其形态并不仅仅受环境的影响。单一由叠层石形态推测环境不具有合理性,即使结合伴生沉积构造等来共同推测,叠层石在其中也没有发挥主要作用。当前讨论较多的影响叠层石形态的2个主要因素,即环境和微生物群落,经研究发现,环境控制微生物群落的成分,两者不属于并列关系,而是包含关系。微生物群落又决定了微生物席的类型,微生物席同时也会受到环境的改造,因此认为微生物席才是叠层石形态的主控因素。
Stromatolite form is dependent upon many factors and not only influenced by environment, so it is not reasonable to speculate about the environment singly based on stromatolite form. The two main factors that affect the morphology of stromatolite are environment and microbial communities. Microbial community determines the type of microbial mat. And microbial mat will also be modified by the environment at the same time. This paper considers the microbial mat to be the dominant controlling factor of the stromatolite form.
