The types,numbers and distributions of antennal sensilla were studied in both female and male adults of two Acrididae species（Mecostethus baichengensis Ren and Mecostethus grossus L.） using scanning electron microscope（SEM）.Female and male antennae of both species have the same 12 types of sensilla.They were identified as trichoid sensilla,chaetic sensilla（Ⅰ,Ⅱ）,basiconic sensilla（Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ）,coeloconic sensilla,cavity sensilla,Bhm′s bristles and paddle-shaped sensilla.We described the morphology and distribution of antennal sensilla of these two species and demonstrated the differences of the number and distribution of antennal sensilla occurring in female and male species.
