The supramolecular chemistry has been a quite rapidly developing, increasingly active, and newly rising highlight interdiscipline, and is gradually becoming a relatively independent research area. On the basis of intro- ducing the concept, development history, structural units and function of the supramolecular chemistry, the recent ap- plying progress in life sciences is reviewed in terms of three aspects--medicine, MRI contrast agents and bionics. The significance of the supramolecular chemistry and its application prospects in life sciences are also discussed.
