Marx＇s critique of modernity contains paradigm and thought of social engineering. Marx analyzes the forma- tion mechanism of the capitalist modernity from the microscopic view, criticizes and reforms capitalist social relations and production relations realistically, constructs and designs new social relations and production relations of commu- nism. This makes his critique of modernity have the paradigm of social engineering. Marx＇s critique of modernity utili- zes the research methods of social engineering such as system approach , the method of unifying the logics and history, the method of unifying standardization and ideographic. Exploring Marx＇s thought of social engineering in his critique of modernity can promote the transformation from principle of Marxist theory to specific developmental pattern and system design, which is of great significance.
