Objective The purpose is to explore the digital interface information design to solve the cognitive problems which the automation brings to human-complex system interaction. Methods The approach is to summarize situation awareness information processing chain model through the task properties analysis of human-complex system digital interface interaction, and which is based on the relevance of automation, cognitive load and situational awareness. Conclusion One is the visual information structured design of complex system digital interface is conducive to integrate and present the information level and relation, which can achieve denotation constructed and information communicated clear, fast, efficiently.Second, visual information knowledge-based design comes from mental activity task properties of problem solving of human-complex system digital interface interaction, which can provide a cognitive knowledge system for interactive activity including people, equipment and environment.Third, visual information symbolic design is used to information coding, which the concrete representation symbols and abstract symbols have different characters and advantages in the information attribute encoding.
