Many nanoparticles can be used in the immobilization of DNA on the surface of the solid substrate. The species immobilization methods and characteristics of such nanoparticles are introduced. Both the quantity of immobilized DNA and the recognition property of the hybridization reaction can be greatly enhanced by the application of nanoparticles with large surface and good biocompatibility to DNA, and thus the detection sensitivity of the DNA sensors can be increased.
