Complex, Cu (acac) 2 ( 1 ), was prepared by the reaction between acetylacetone (acac) and copper acetate. Silver hexafluoroantimonate (AgSbF6 ) reacted with 1 to give the coordination polymer [ AgCu( acac)2SbF6 ] ,(2). Structure of 2 was characterized by FT-IR, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. 2(CCDC : 1 012 635) belongs to monoclinic, space group C2/c with a = 14. 154 0(8) A, b =9.323 8(6) A, c =13.048 1(11) A,/3=104.597(2)°, V=I 666.4(2) A3, Z=4, Dc=2.413 g · cm-3, R1 =0.026 6, ωR2 =0.066 5. In molecular structure of 2, each Ag (I) is tetracoordinated in a distorted tetrahedron coordination environment to four O atom from two different 1, each 1 acted as tetradentate ligand coordinating two Ag(I) centers to form a 1 D dimensional chain structure.
