DP finish is carried out on cotton fabric with maleic acid anhydride and chitosan, factors exerting influence on finishing results are discussed, such as maleic acid anhydride, ammonium persulfate, chitosan, dyeing behaviors of finished fabric are tested. It is said that the optimum conditions for DP finish are 8 % maleic acid anhydride, 4 % ammonium persulfate （ratio to maleic acid anhydride weight）, 0.05 % chitosan, ？ % sodium phosphite, 4 % triethanolamine, curing at 170℃ for 2 minutes. DP finish will lead to K/S value decrease but little influence on color fastness.
