Both oxalic acid and citric acid can form stable complexes with TOA. The complex ratios were confirmed to be 1:1 by chemical analyses and FTIR spectra. The PVC membrane electrodes based on these electroactive materials were prepared. The prepared electrodes can be used to determine the concentrations of oxalic acid and citric acid. The linear ranges were from 1.0×10^-4mol· L^-1 to 1.0×10^-1 mol·L^-1 for oxalate acid and from 1.0×10^-5 mol·L^-1 to 1.0×10^-2 mol·L^-1 for citrate. The electrodes were successfully applied to determine the concentrations of oxalic acid and citric acid in simple simulative systems.
