Agriculture is the foundation of national economy,and agricultural scientific and technological innovation is the motivation and source of developing agricultural economy.The historical mission of building an innovation-oriented country and a resource-saving society needs higher standard for scientific and technological innovation in agriculture.Based on elaborating the connotations and characteristics of agricultural scientific and technological innovation,the authors analyzed the urgency of accelerating the agricultural scientific and technololgical innovation and the problems of current agricultural scientific and technological innovation,and put forward some measures for China＇s 13 th Five-Year Plan period
