The applications of quaternary ammonium salt are becoming more and more widely in medicine, cosmetics environmental, and so on. Especially, the applieation in drug carrier of product combined with chitosan is a hot issue of research in recent years. Herein, the properties of quanternary ammonium salt were reviewed, and the research progress of the application of quaternary ammonium salt was reviewed. Finally, the research trends are prospected in medicine in the future.
