章太炎以革命性姿态和批判性精神立于传统与现代之间,其文学话语实践,将复古的面貌与现代的内蕴糅合在一起,由于对现代批判精神的强调,传统得以参与现代性建构,而现代性也得以反观自身;基于多元文化观点,他的文学话语实践力图以颇具学理性的方式充分肯定中国文学所独具的民族特性之价值,挖掘出这种民族性进行现代转换的可能性与路径。如此,不仅将中国传统的、民族的元素在中国文学的现代形态中葆有一席之地合理化,而且更为重要的是,章太炎关于中国文学现代性的设想与实践所拓展的独立思维空间与思想路径,作为一个“历史文本”,对今天仍处于现代性工程建设中而彷徨于古今中西之间艰难抉择的中国学界而言,值得被不断重读与回味。
In modern China, Zhang Taiyan, master of Chinese study, advocated the concept of general literature which was different from other scholars at that time, and was criticized frequently. However, this literature concept is closely related with Zhang's unique idea of literature modernity. Therefore, it is necessary to rationally analyze his concept of general literature which helps better understand discourse practice in his literature.
