In recent years, the academic disputes on trade facilitation have become a constant in domestic economic and trade policy discussions, as well as in international trade and economic cooperation. The subject of trade facilitation is often included in international, regional, and bilateral trade agreements. This paper summarizes the current academic disputes the meaning of trade facilitation,the ways in which it can be measured, and its benefits, and analyzes the future of trade facilitation.
