Facing more and more complex and volatile external environment and challen- ges resulting from globalization and diversification, leaders should keep constant trust rela- tionships with all stakeholders in an enterprise, which is just the core idea of responsible leadership theory,a new theory of leadership. This paper sorts out the important findings of responsible leadership theory research. It introduces the concept and measurement methods of responsible leadership, and comparatively analyzes the similarities and differences among leadership theories. Then it deeply elaborates relevant theoretical basis, comprehensively explores the antecedents and influences and points out future research directions.
