The United States Distance Learning Association 2013 National Conference was held in April 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri. The theme of the conference is Distance Learning： A New Era of Openness. The paper first introduces the distance learn- ing in America, the United States Distance Learning Association and the USDLA national conference, then analyzes the contents in the conference systematically, involving network course construction, development of teachers＇ competences, effective management, quality assurance and related new technologies in distance education. It shows a trend of the future of American distance education, so that it can provide references for relevant researches on distance education in China to promote its development.
