This study establish a investment efficiency model to analysis the decision-making behavior of consumers to buy cars, and then verify the main conclusions with the help of the U.S. historical auto sales data. The results show the holding cost of the car buyers is proportional to income, and advances in automotive technology may increase the cost of the holder; the more convenienter the public transportation system, the higher the expected value of technical level of the car; with. the development of the second-hand car market, the car buyer wll have higher motivation to purchase new technology vehicles; the high vehicle price will highten the car technology level consumers expect.
