The construction of ＂three-oriented society＂ is closely related to the advance of ecological civilization. It＇s not only a new perspective but also a new idea to explore on China＇s ecological civilization construction on the basis of the new concept of ＂three-oriented society＂. This paper gives an in-depth interpretation of the new concept of ＂three-oriented society＂ and the inner link between them, and also analyzes the important position of it in the ecological civilization construction. It points out the problems and challenges of China＇s ecological civilization construction under the new concept of ＂three-oriented society＂, and puts forward some countermeasures in order to promote and realize the combination of population, resources and environment and achieve a better ecological civilization construction. And the major measures consist of developing and implementing the strategy of ＂three-oriented society＂; intensifying the building of ＂three-oriented society＂; coordinating the space patterns of production, livelihood and ecology; promoting green production mode and lifestyle; promoting the greenization of education and technology development; improving the institutions of population, resources and environment.
