Innovation is the spirit of knowledge economy; and its importance has been acquainted by more and more researchers. Analyzing the innovation activities in the view of system theory is the new area in which many learners are researching and discussing. The article sums up the application of system theory in innovation research on the national levels, regional levels and enterprises＇levels, after that, it reviews the achievements and shortages of the research nowadays, and put forward some future research focus and direction.
