At first, we find out the major indicator which influences the efficiency in absorbing FDI using GMDH method, and then use DEA method to appraise the efficiency of absorbing FDI in China according to these indexes. It has been found that the major indicators include. The mileage of the railway, the volume of export taking GDP proportion, the corporate income tax taking GDP proportion, GDP total amount, per capita GDP, the disposable income of urban residents, price index of the investment in fixed assets, etc. In absorbing the efficiency of FDI, the areas where advantages have been exerted best are Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Henan. The areas where advantages have been exerted worst are Gansu, Guizhou, Qinghai and Xinjiang.
