英文摘要：
The essential factor that affects the performance of product is the technology. In the process of new product development, developing new technology is often used to improve product performance. All new technologies are the mutation of existing technologies and usually generated by existing technological system. Using biological metaphor, it analyzes the types of the technology mutations in new product development . Empirical analysis proves that technology mutations can speed the improvement of product performance. The reswlt shows that in the proess of new product devel- opment, enterprise can develop new technology through different paths.
