特殊教育不可因强调“社会教育”模式的重要性而否认传统的“医教结合”模式,也不可因强调“医教结合”模式而否认“社会教育”模式。特殊教育一方面应正视特殊儿童的残疾事实,关注残疾的病理学根源、行为特点以及矫正补偿的方法;另一方面也要从社会人的角度出发,满足特殊儿童回归主流社会的教育需求。
Special education cannot, owing to its emphasis on the mode of "social education", deny the traditional mode of "combining medicine and education", and vice versa. On the one hand, special education should face up to the disabilities of disabled children, and pay close attention to their pathological causes, behavioral characteristics and corrections. On the other hand, special education should satisfy their educational demand for returning to the mainstream society.
