Nuclear transport is an important event in eukaryotic cells, which is the key prerequisite for functional proteins and cell viability. Nuclear transport of proteins is always mediated by nuclear import receptors, which is a very complicated process and involves lots of different proteins and protein-protein interactions. This article reviews recent progress in this field within last a few years. We talk about protein sub-cellular translocation regulated by protein-protein interaction involved in nuclear transport, and discuss its impact on cellular physiological functions in distinct aspects.
