论文对《大学英语新要求词汇手册》进行手工统计,调查动物名词汉英词典释义的生态信息,对比二者的异同,为汉语汉字与英语单词的关联度提供生态学依据,为母语是汉语的英语学习者英语单词的记忆与运用探寻发生学对策。以“大学英语”词汇为例对动物名词汉英词典释义进行生态信息的对比研究,是“大学英语”多学科交叉教学模式的新探索,对英语词汇学、汉英比较词汇学等的研究范围是一种拓展,对“大学英语”词汇教学方法论也是一种补充,具有理论价值和实践意义。
The paper attempts to provide an ecological niche for the correlation between Chinese characters and English words and tries to explore generative tactics which would be helpful for Chinese learners to memorize English words and put them to good use. Manually counting the words listed in New Requirements of College English Course Teaching, the paper investigates the ecological messages conveyed in the definitions of animal names both in Chinese and English dictionaries. The paper also compares the similarities and differences between the two definitions as well. The comparative study on the ecological messages conveyed in the definitions of animal names further explores the crossdisciplinary mode on College English teaching, broadens the research scope of English lexicology as well as Chinese- English lexical comparison and adds variety to college English vocabulary teaching methods, which has its theoretical and practical values.
