L297+L298 structure are widely used in stepper motor drives. Taking a two-phase stepper motor for exampie, this paper designed three drive circuits including basic drive circuit, chopper constant current drive circuit and divided drive circuit. The issues of relationship between speed and timer, calculation of divide value and reason of motor running abnormally were analyzed in detail,providing reference to use L297+L298 in stepper motor drive better.
