在社会工作学科发展过程中，理论和实践的分割运行一直是社会工作自身专业化发展的极大障碍。而这种分割运行，更像是一种社会工作实践活动对理论的主动抛弃。因此，许多社会工作者在处理个案、小组和社区等专业层面的实践活动过程中，很难系统性地自觉运用任何一种理论。社会工作过度强调实务的取向使得社会工作者在专业实践中常常会带有某种“反理论”立场的倾向，而这种“反理论”的立场又使得社会工作实践本身宝贵的专业价值更多地流于经验层面，从而最终造成对社会工作理论和实践发展的双重不利影响。在中国，社会工作专业学科体系构建的不断完善，离不开其专业理论的发展，而这当中倡导专业社会工作者的理论自觉意识便首当其冲，并成为推动中国社会工作理论和实践协调发展、促进社会工作者专业认知和实务方法提升的重要手段。
英文摘要：
In the process of development of social work subject, the separate proceeding problem of social work theory and practice has always been a great obstacle in its own professional development. Such separate condition seems a kind of initiative abandonment to theory by social work practice. Therefore, many social workers hardly use a professional theory systematically and consciously in operating case work, group work, community work and other professional practical activities. Excessive emphasis on practice orientation makes social workers operate professional practice with ＂anti-theory＂ tendency. Meanwhile, this tendency will make more precious professional value of social work practice fall on experimental level, which will consequently cause dual adverse effect to the development of social work theory and practice. In China, the constructing process of social work subject can＇t improve without the development of professional theory. Thus advocating self-awareness of theory will step into the breach and become a significant method to promote harmonious development of social work theory and practice of China and upgrade the profession cognation and practice method of professional social workers.
