With the research method of literature study, the paper analyses the sports thinking of Luther Halsey Gu- lick, an American who pursued pure sport. Gulick＇ s sport thought includes harmonious physical and psychological development, game as the nature of sport and social cultural development based on sports activities. His thought is of great educational value in terms of promoting the construction of sports culture of the social organization and estab- lishing the fair sports spirit.
