A decision support system for governmental human resources planning in a Chinese administrative district was designed and initial implement. Its goal lies in providing a tool for the governmental human resources management. The DSS can provide selective planning for this level of government in the man- power request, recruitment, position arrangement, promotion, appraisal as well as development. Moreover, the DSS also can help managers in governmental human resources sector analyze the decision-making of human resources in this level of government, and solve the human resources problems, reduce the lap in the adjustment of the organization, and improve the governmental staff's performance as well.
