Based on the hope of changing the backward situation in rural areas in China, after years of empirical research, Fei Xiaotong proposed a series of important thoughts for developing rural economy. In his doctoral dissertation Peasant Life in China, thoughts on rural property, developing rural industry, as well as developing commercial and financial market, can be an important reference for present-day new rural construction in China.
