With the Suiping land use status data as the research object, based on the land use index and the GIS spatial analysis meth-od, the paper discusses the land use characteristics of Suiping.Some conclusions are drawn as follows：Different land use types present different characteristics in county area.The dominant pattern of the landscape in Suiping is farm land, which is followed by village land and mining land.Grassland and other land are sporadic.
