The distinguishing feature of Quine' s naturalized epistemology is that it takes epistemology as a part of natural science, i.e. , a chapter of empirical psychology, in which we research into the relation between people' s views about the world and his sensory data, and approach it as an input - output relation within the neural system of people as natural things. Kim points out that the relation within the neural system is only a causal one, and this has caused the naturalized epistemology to lose its duty of justification for the rationality, thus lose the normativeness that is necessary for any epistemology. Putnam points out that the "normativeness" Quine so called in his natural- ized epistemology is inconsistent or empty. Here the author gives a further analysis of Quine' s statements of norma- tiveness and reveals some contradictions in them. In a word, it is unavoidable for Quine' s naturalized epistemology to lose the normativeness.
