The performance and application of ATmega 1280 is briefly described. Multi-channel power detection & control unit is designed based on ATmega 1280 for a certain mobile communication system receiver. The system configuration and principle are illustrated in detail. It elaborately gives the serial port interrupt, timer interrupt configuration and software design flow. Experiments have proved that the power detector & controller designed with ATmega 1280 are not only hardware high performance, but also high reliability and EMC. The designed system well meets the requirements for automatic identification of power signals and improves the demodulation performance of the wireless receiver.
