The core view of uncertainty management model (UMM) is that under conditions of uncertainty, people will be familiar with the cultural worldview that they obey and stand off the different cultural worldview. Furthermore, people may respond especially positively to persons and events that bolster their cultural norms and values, whereas may react particularly negatively to persons and events that violate these norms and values. The paper emphasizes the conception, influencing factors and the affects made to- ward individuals of personal uncertainty, and analyses the early and the extended models of uncertainty management. Furthermore, to draw comparisons between UMM and other theories, it shows the important significance that the advancing of uncertainty management theory made in modern organizational manage- ment and in social life. However, more researches are needed for further validation and consummation for various person and under different cultures.
