分析并总结地图语言学在GIS技术影响下的发展、变化；通过分析当今地图语言的新特点，阐述地图符号的定义；从语言学角度分析地图符号的语言学机制并提出地图符号的语义概念模型。最后简述该模型在地图符号软件中的应用。
英文摘要：
Cartographic language is a scientific system which is made up of map symbols. Cartographic language has the characteristics of nature languages. It also has its own characters. Cartographic language can describe the general characters of geo- objects, and it also can express the dynamic and temporal characters via multi-media expressional mechanism of sounds, cartoons, images and virtual realization etc. This paper introduced the changes of cartographic language that were influenced by GIS technologies. The map symbols definition was expounded by analyzing the new characters in the contemporary era of cartographic language. Furthermore, based on the definition, the linguistic mechanism of cartographic symbol was interpreted from the view of linguistics and the semantic conceptual mode for map symbols was developed. At last, the semantic model was applied effectively in the map symbol software.
