Chu bamboo slips should be of proper use in the revision of the Grand Chinese Dictionary. We should absorb the shapes of Chinese characters that make up the meaning gap, the familiar meanings to denote proper nouns and the examples that could advance the era of the meanings that appeared for the first time, etc.. We should reject the shapes of Chinese characters which have been absorbed in the other shapes of Chinese characters of the warring states period, the new Chinese characters that still have not formed a consensus in meaning and the meanings to denote special proper nouns, etc..
