In the researches on senile dementia, professor ZHANG Bo-li pioneered different treatment stage therapy and cerebrospinal fluid pharmacology method. In the treatment of senile dementia, he emphasized reinforcing kidney, dissipating phlegm and eliminating blood stasis, and he also paid attention to regulating qi activity of middle jiao, ascending lucidity and descending turbidity, tranquillization and regulating liver and heart. This paper summarized and investigated the application of methods mentioned above and specific medication characteristics.
