Because transportation of natural gas from remote regions is rather expensive, one noteworthy way of utilizing natural gas resources in the West is to convert them into facilely transportable chemical products with high added value, such as dimethyl, methanol etc. A comparison between the technology of singular production of dimethyl ether against one combined with power generation is being presented. With the latter one 8.94 % relative energy saving may be attained. The influence of hydrogen to carbon ratio of the syngas on the co-production system' s performance is also being discussed.
