英文摘要：
Before the Ming dynasty China is the world leader in mathematics,especially in the most flourishing period of the Song and Yuan dynasties.However,since Ming dynasty,stagnation has appeared in the development of mathematics.After the Qing dynasty the development of mathematics in china lagged behind Western Europe.There are many reasons for this phenomenon but through analysis and research I find that an important reason for the ups and downs of mathematics in China is the appropriateness of the use of symbols.
